* MORNING CLASS * Learn hand embroidery & stitch a shaded Maple leaf with Bella Lane

Mastery of basic stitch techniques is the foundation for achieving beautiful results with your hand embroidery projects. Join this three hour class and learn with the wonderful tutor Bella Lane the art of long and short stitches, together with some fundamental shading techniques to complete this lovely seasonal embroidered Maple leaf. This is a perfect project for those who would like to start embroidering nature designs.

 

Bella Lane is from Iquitos Peru,  Master Peruvian embroiderer, trained at the Royal School of Needlework and a world embroidery stitch collector.  We are very honoured to have Bella as a guest teacher at Fabrications! 



On completion of the class participants will confidently be able to:

- Understand how to set up the fabric properly in an embroidery hoop

- How to use the best fabric, needles, threads for this technique

- Participants can apply the same techniques for their own projects

- Also, students will have picked up some 'insider' tips and tricks from a master craft person




TIME:
10 - 1pm

PRICE:  £55 or £95 if you book the FULL DAY (2 sessions AM - Embroidered Maple Leaf. Lunch break. PM - Goldwork - Tudor Rose)

Includes a special embroidery kit pre prepared by Bella containing instruction sheet, good quality embroidery needle, threads, fabric & design and a complimentary glass of Prosecco at the end of the session!

* AFTERNOON CLASS * Learn Goldwork embroidery & stitch a Tudor Rose with Bella Lane

Join Bella Lane and learn to stitch this beautiful Goldwork Tudor Rose design inspired by the United Kingdom realms. This class is the perfect mini-masterclass for the complete beginner to traditional goldwork hand embroidery techniques. 
Goldwork embroidery is one of the richest techniques of hand embroidery.  It has been practised from ancient times, using gold, silver, copper and wire threads, originally in ecclesiastical costumes in Europe. Today goldwork embroidery appears in art forms and in fashion. This beautiful shamrock design will take you to the next level of embroidery, learning and stitching a lovely project. Bring your reading or stitching glasses if necessary, as the work is fine!

- Use couching stitches to attach the gold thread

- Add beads, sequins sequrely and neatly as additional embelishments

- Learn how to plan and transfer a design onto fabric ready for the Goldwork

- Have picked up some 'insider' tips and tricks from a master craftperson.

- Feel inspired to embark on your own Goldwork embroidery designs!
