Through this introductory class, participants will learn the basics of setting up and using an overlocker, some tips and tricks as well as developing the confidence to progress onto making things using an overlocker.

On completion of this class participants will confidently be able to:

– Thread up (simplified)

– Change thread colours without a complete re-thread

– Get an even feed through on your fabric and tackling curves confidently

– Work with 3 or 4 threads, understanding when each option applies

– Play with cutting widths

– Aquire practical tips such as changing needles, using the cone holders, tweazers, removing the blades and other accompanying accessories

– Understand tension and troubleshoot

– Create a rolled hem

– Use fun alternatives and discover more than just creating neat edges!

– Maintenance advice

– Receive tailored advice for your own personal projects

Class Size: 6 students

Time: 11am – 1:30pm (Please arrive 15 mins before the class starts to allow time to unbox and plug in your machine)

Please Bring: Your own Overlocker. Please get in touch before the class to let us know your brand/model. We also have 2 ‘Brother’ overlockers available (models 2104D & 3034D) if you dont have an overlocker and are interested in learning more about overlockers and their potential! But let us know in advance if you’d like to use one of ours!
