We stock a comprehensive selection of crafting supplies to support your sewing, upcycling, mending, knitting & crochet projects. We are dedicated to offering good quality supplies at a fair price from local, sustainable & ethical sources. However if you can’t find what you are looking for with us, we recommend the following local, small business for responsible sourcing:

Reuse Hubs:

Yodomo organise regular fabric sales in Hackney Wick, where anyone can buy low-cost, high-quality textiles from leading interior design and fashion brands. Follow Yodomo on Eventbrite to get updates on forthcoming events.

Renee Materials re distributes businesses’ off-cuts, surplus stock, and leftover materials for reuse, like paper, wood, textiles, leather, glass, metal, through their online marketplace and their Hackney Wick & Shoreditch hubs.

The Children’s S.C.R.A.P. Project in Homerton collects, stores and distributes clean, safe industrial waste to schools, community groups and charitable organisations involved in education. A membership fee entitles groups to visit the project and collect materials as often as they need within that year.

Surplus Fabric , AKA “Deadstock”:

Woolcrest is a family owned business, operating in London since 1983. A visit to their warehouse is an experience, located 10 mins walk from Fabrications on Well Street. Discover the largest variety of industry ‘surplus’ fabrics in Europe, from winter wools to summer linens.

The New Craft House is a 5 mins walk from Fabrications. Their fabric and haberdashery is true designer deadstock, sourced directly from designers who have it leftover. Much of this surplus fabric and trims would have been destined for landfill or in some cases incinerated.
