11 February 2017

* AFTERNOON CLASS * Couples Sewing - machine stitch each others portraits

Date: 11 February 2017 14:30 to 17:30
Details:

In preperation for St Valentine's Day, we thought we'd offer a fun and creative sewing class for couples! In this class you will learn how to use a sewing machine to draw each other's portraits! Don't worry if you've never used a sewing machine before or if you feel that you can't draw!  We believe that everyone has a creative spark and Barley Massey will show you how to use the sewing machine and guide you through a couple of simple techniques, so you will be sketching with thread in no time, capturing each other's beauty!

At the end of an enjoyable class you will both have created a textile portrait * of each other to take away ( * open to interpretation! )

On completion of the class, participants should confidently be able to:

- Understand how to prepare a machine and fabric for freestyle machine embroidery
- Use the machine to draw with thread
- Translate ideas into expressive textile art
- Feel inspired to try more sewing projects together!

TIME:
2.30 - 5.30pm

PRICE: £50 * Includes all materials ( a pick n mix selection of fabrics, threads) use of 'Brother' sewing machibes, scissors etc

* Special Couples Price! (£25 each)
