* MORNING CLASS * Learn to spin your own 'designer' yarn

Join Sue Russell and learn how to create your very own unique yarns, suitable for knitting, weaving and other crafts. Sue has been making her own yarns for most of her life (and supplies Fabrications shop) She is passionate about passing on the traditional craft of spinning, re - energising the technique by combining natural and waste materials. During the workshop participants will gain understanding of the different 'properties' that fibres hold, get to grips with using a 'drop spindle', learn to ply and have a go on Sue's beautiful antique spinning wheel.
Why not spend the whole day with Sue, and incoroporate your own 'designer' yarns into a woven piece in the afternoon's class  ' Weave your own rug in an afternoon'

On completion of the class, participants will confidently be able to:

- Have a overview of different kinds of natural fibres and where to source
- Understand how to 'tease' fibres and make into a continous thread
- Use a drop spindle with ease
- Ply 2 or more threads together to make a strong yarn
- Upcycle waste materials or use old/unloved/unused yarns in your stash and incoroporate them into a new and more unique yarn!
- Understand how a spinning wheel works


TIME: 11 - 1.30pm

PRICE: £30 / £25 conc includes all materials, use of equipment and refreshments. OR if you book for the full day £50 / £45 conc.
