Creative Cushion Making for beginners

Based loosely on Barley Massey’s ‘Remember Me’ commissioning service, ‘Creative Cushion Making for Beginners’ has been created for participants new to using a sewing machine, wishing to combine creative upcycling, fabric construction and machine sewing to transform personal items of clothing into creative cushions. This is an ideal follow on class to the ’Provisional Driving’ introduction to using a sewing machine class.


On completion of this class, participants will confidently be able to:

- use a sewing machine.
- understand the principles of basic pattern making and cutting
- apply different fastening techniques  including overlapping, zip and ties.
- create decoration by combining decorative stitches and appliqué
- Realise your creative ideas into a personalised cushion cover.

TIME: 2 - 4.30pm

PRICE: £30 / £25. Includes materials, cushion pad and refreshments.
